The opportunity to recall that Napoleon I passed many times in Champagne, from the military school of Brienne-le-Ch\u00e2teau (Aube), which he attended from 9 to 15 years old, to the last battles of the French campaign (Reims , Champaubert, Montmirail, Vauchamps) which will lead to his abdication in 1814. Before that, the Emperor visited \u00c9pernay on several occasions and his name thus appeared from 1801 in the registers of the Mo\u00ebt &amp; Chandon house. We see him here in a picture visiting the cellars in 1807. During his last visit to the champagne capital, on March 17, 1814, Napoleon even presented the Legion of Honor to his friend Jean-R\u00e9my Mo\u00ebt, mayor of the city and eponymous boss of the house.
